This newly-opened restaurant (June 2011) serves home-made traditional Anatolian dishes. Emine's menu is made up of a small selection of delicious family recipes prepared daily from fresh seasonal produce. The menu changes every day but there is always a vegetarian dish as well as home-made manti, gozleme, soups and salads. Serves all-day breakfast, lunch and evening meals.

Kervan Restaurant

Right in the town centre, this restaurant offers a wide range of traditional Turkish food : grilled meats and fresh salads, testi kebab (meat or vegetable stew cooked in a clay pot), a variety of mezes and pides which you can enjoy with a glass of local Cappadocian wine. Barfiks Bar Restaurant

In this beautifully restored old house dating from the 1880s (when it was then the priests house) you will find an excellent cuisine, very good service and a warm welcome from Ahmet, the owner. This restaurant is the first in Cappadocia to introduce duck specialities - sun-dried duck from Kars is absolutely delicious ! You can taste beautifully presented Turkish and international dishes.

Panorama Cafe Restaurant (Manti Evi)

This charming family-run restaurant is perched on the Wishing Hill (Temenni Hill) offering stunning views of the Urgup valley. The restaurant is renowned for the local speciality of manti : tiny homemade meat-filled dumplings served with a yoghurt and garlic sauce - absolutely delicious ! The restaurant is modestly decorated in the authentic traditional style and in this relaxed atmosphere you will soon feel part of the family - Ismail , the charming and friendly owner speaks English and French and goes out of his way to make you feel at home. As you discover the delights of real home-made Anatolian cooking you can admire the unique view over Urgup to the mountains - even to Mount Erciyes. This is the only restaurant in Urgup to have a view like this and sipping a glass of local wine while watching the sun set is a privilege.

We like : Ismail's hospitality and sense of humour and the delicious food - apart from the famous mantiand meze try the köfte (meatballs) - the best !
